Summary
Amos 9:1–4 – No escape from the Lord
What happens: Amos sees the Lord by the altar commanding destruction. Whether they flee to Sheol, heaven, Carmel, or the sea, He will find them.

What it means: The Judge is also Creator. His power ensures His promises and warnings come to pass.
Amos 9:7–10 – Sifting Israel

Amos 9:11–12 – Raising David’s fallen booth

What it means: Restoration centers on David’s house and God’s purpose for the nations. In the New Testament this is fulfilled in Christ and the inclusion of Gentiles.
Amos 9:13–15 – Overflowing restoration
What happens: Days come when plowman overtakes reaper and mountains drip with wine. God plants His people in their land and they never again are uprooted.
