Exodus 31:1–11 – Bezalel and Oholiab appointed
What happens: The Lord names Bezalel of Judah and Oholiab of Dan. He fills them with the Spirit, skill, and knowledge to craft all tabernacle items according to His plan.
What it means: God equips people for holy work. Calling, skill, and creativity are gifts from God to build a place where He is honored.
Exodus 31:12–17 – The Sabbath as a covenant sign
What happens: God commands Israel to keep the Sabbath throughout their generations. It is a sign that He makes them holy, for in six days He made heaven and earth and on the seventh He rested.
What it means: Rest belongs to God’s covenant pattern. Sabbath shows God’s holiness, our trust in Him, and our identity as His people.
Exodus 31:18 – Tablets given to Moses
What happens: God gives Moses two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets written with the finger of God. They seal the covenant terms.
What it means: God’s law comes from God Himself, not human minds. His written word anchors the life of His people.
