Psalm 84:1–4 – Lovely dwelling What happens: The psalmist longs for God’s courts; even sparrows find a home there. Blessed are those who dwell in God’s house. What it means: God’s presence is true home. Worship satisfies the restless heart.
Psalm 84:5–9 – Strength on the pilgrimage What happens: Those whose strength is in God go from strength to strength, making dry valleys into springs. They pray for favor on the anointed. What it means: God supplies pilgrims with renewing grace. Prayer and perseverance mark the journey.
Psalm 84:10–12 – Better is one day What happens: One day in God’s courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. The Lord is sun and shield and withholds no good from the upright. What it means: God is both provision and protection. Integrity enjoys His generous favor.
