Psalms 93 Explained — The Lord Reigneth Over Raging Floods

Summary

Psalm 93:1–2 – The Lord reigns What happens: God is robed in majesty and established from of old. His throne is from everlasting. What it means: God’s kingship is unshakable. Stability comes from His eternal rule.


Psalm 93:3–5 – Mightier than the floods What happens: Floods lift their voice, yet the Lord is mightier. His testimonies are sure and holiness befits His house. What it means: Chaos cannot unseat God. His Word is dependable and His presence calls for holiness.

1The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

2Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

4The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
