Summary
Esther 5:1–2 – Esther Enters the Throne Room
What happens: On the third day, Esther dresses in royal robes and stands in the inner court. The king sees her, favors her, and extends the scepter. She approaches and touches its tip.

Esther 5:3–8 – The First Banquet
What happens: The king offers Esther up to half the kingdom. She invites the king and Haman to a banquet, then invites them again to a second banquet where she will present her request.
What it means: Patience and timing matter in wise advocacy. Esther trusts God while setting the table for truth to be heard. Faith uses prudence, not panic.
Esther 5:9–14 – Haman’s Rage and the Gallows
What happens: Haman leaves joyful but becomes furious when Mordecai does not tremble. At home he boasts of his honors, yet complains about Mordecai. His wife and friends advise him to build a high gallows and ask the king to hang Mordecai.
What it means: Pride swings between shallow joy and deep fury. Sin demands honor and plots harm when denied. God is preparing a reversal where the proud fall into their own trap.
Application
