Isaiah 12:1–2 – Personal Praise for Salvation

What happens: The redeemed say, “You were angry, but You comfort me.” They confess God as their salvation and strength. They choose trust instead of fear.

What it means: God’s righteous anger yields to mercy when He saves. Faith answers salvation with confidence and gratitude, honoring God’s grace.


Isaiah 12:3 – Wells of Salvation

What happens: God’s people draw water with joy from the wells of salvation. They drink deeply of what God provides.

What it means: God’s salvation satisfies the soul. He is generous, and His people may return again and again to His life-giving grace.


Isaiah 12:4–6 – Public Praise to the Nations

What happens: They give thanks, call on His name, and make His deeds known among the nations. Zion shouts because the Holy One is great in her midst.

What it means: Worship overflows into witness. God’s presence creates joy and mission, so the nations can know His holiness and mercy.


Application

  • Replace fear with trust and thank God out loud.
  • Keep returning to God’s word and promises like wells that never run dry.
  • Tell others what God has done so that joy multiplies.

1And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

3Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

4And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

5Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

6Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
