Summary
Psalm 135:1–7 – Praise the Creator What happens: Servants praise the Lord who chose Israel and does whatever He pleases, forming clouds and rain. What it means: God’s freedom and power invite strong praise. Creation is under His command.
Psalm 135:8–14 – Mighty acts and compassion What happens: He strikes Egypt, defeats kings, gives land, and has compassion on His servants. What it means: God saves with power and cares with tenderness. History proves His covenant love.
Psalm 135:15–18 – Idols are nothing What happens: Idols cannot speak or see; those who make them become like them. What it means: Worship shapes the worshiper. False gods dehumanize.
Psalm 135:19–21 – Bless the Lord What happens: Israel, house of Aaron, and all who fear God are called to bless His name. What it means: Praise unites all God’s people. God’s presence in Zion is our joy.
