Summary
Psalm 76:1–3 – God known by victory What happens: God is known in Judah, His name great in Israel, and His dwelling in Zion. He breaks the flashing arrows and the weapons of war. What it means: God reveals Himself through real deliverance. His holiness brings peace by ending violence.
Psalm 76:4–10 – Terrible and saving Judge What happens: God is radiant and more majestic than mountains of prey; the stouthearted are plundered. From heaven He issues judgment, and the earth fears and is still. What it means: God’s justice humbles the proud. Even human wrath ends up praising Him when He restrains it.
Psalm 76:11–12 – Vow and pay What happens: All are called to make vows and fulfill them, for God cuts off the spirit of princes. He is to be feared by the kings of the earth. What it means: Right response to rescue is obedient worship. God rules over rulers and deserves reverent promises kept.
