Summary
Psalm 96:1–6 – Sing a new song What happens: All nations are called to sing and declare God’s salvation and glory. Idols are nothing; the Lord made the heavens. What it means: Mission is worship going public. The Creator alone is worthy.
Psalm 96:7–10 – Ascribe and announce What happens: Families of earth bring glory, offerings, and say, “The Lord reigns.” He judges with equity. What it means: Worship includes giving and witness. God’s rule is fair and firm.
Psalm 96:11–13 – Creation rejoices What happens: Heaven, earth, sea, and field rejoice because God comes to judge in righteousness. What it means: God’s judgment is good news. Creation longs for His just reign.
